PENTWATER STORIES
These stories began as a collaborative project supported by grants from the Michigan Humanities Council, the Oceana County Foundation, the Junior Women’s Club. The project was sponsored by the Pentwater Historical Society and many of the stories were published and posted in the windows of the downtown retail establishments.
25 stories of Pentwater buildings and historic sites were written by VanderPloeg, published on panels designed by illustrator Libby VanderPloeg, and displayed in retail and community venues on Hancock Street in the village of Pentwater, Michigan. A history map also designed by Libby VanderPloeg was sold at the Pentwater History Museum.
