BRINGING BACK THE ACRES - A Michigan Historic Preservation Network webinar presented by Pam VanderPloeg about the development of homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in the are of Galesburg, just east of Kalamazoo. Several of the homes were built by the owners themselves from designed by Wright, using the Usonian textile blocks made using the water of Kalamazoo’s Asylum Lake. The author Pam VanderPloeg and her husband Jon VanderPloeg were lucky enough to spend the night in the Pratt House in the Acres after interviewing the Pratt Family at the invitation of owners and good friends Marika and Tony Broerie.
